Doar wins at Nodak for first-ever NLRA triumph
NODAK, N.D. (Aug. 15) — Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis., overtook Late Model rookie Corey Seckerson of Jamestown, N.D., on the 15th lap Sunday at Nodak Speedway and cruised to his first career Northern LateModel Racing Association victory.
Reigning NLRA champion Cody Skytland of Fargo, N.D., finished second followed by the polesitting Seckerson, a former modified racer making just his second Late Model start after buying a Rocket Chassis from fellow North Dakota driver Greg Meyer.
The race was slowed by four cautions, all on the second lap. Canadians Mike McCaughan of St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba, and Mike Balcaen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, rounded out the top five. Wayne Johnson of Minot, N.D., was disqualified for rough driving.
