Johnson outruns Chinn at Ike Moler Memorial
WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio (Aug. 20) — Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind., guided his Jack Rainey-owned No. 49 to victory Friday at Moler Raceway Park to earn $5,000 in the 4-year-old track's richest-ever Late Model event. Johnson topped polesitter Wayne Chinn of Bradford, Ohio, for the victory in the unsanctioned Ike Moler Memorial. | Slideshow
Zack Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., was third followed by fast qualifier Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va., and 10th-starting Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky. Barry Doss of Sardinia, Ohio, the track's points leader, was 14th.
Notes: Johnson drove a MasterSbilt Race Car sponsored by Bedford Transport, Cummings Race Shop and Lineal Contracting. ... The No. 49 has been driven previously this season by Jeremy Hines, mostly in Crate Late Model events. ... Among drivers failing to make the feature lineup: Adam Dixon, Brian Wilhite, John Sizemore and Troy Cruse. ... The event paid tribute to former driver Ike Moler, the patriarch of the family that opened the Cincinnati-area track in 2007.
