Moyer outruns Vaught at Paducah's World 50
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 27) — Leading all the way, Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., used the high groove in racing to victory Friday at Paducah International Raceway's World 50. Moyer earned $5,000 for his 12th career victory on the MARS DIRTcar Series, fighting off challenges from Will Vaught of Crane, Mo. | Slideshow
Vaught, who won a June 4 Northern Allstars event at the 3/8-mile oval, settled for second with 11th-starting Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., in third. Former track champion Terry English of Benton, Ky., was fourth with Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., rounding out the top five.
Brian Shirley of Chatham, Ill., the World 50 winner the past two seasons, started outside the front row but ended up 18th.
