Red-hot Waits earns Chateau Corn Belt victory
LANSING, Minn. (Aug. 27) — Polesitter Brad Waits of Zumbrota, Minn., raced to victory Friday at Chateau Raceway for his first victory on the Dart Corn Belt Clash circuit. Waits outran fellow front-row starter Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa, for the $2,000 victory in the first Late Model event at the 47-year-old driver since 1982.
Keith Foss of Winona, Minn., was third followed by Jason Rauen of Farley, Iowa, and Justin Kay of Wheatland, Iowa. Series points leader Chad Simpson of Mount Vernon, Iowa, the runner-up's older brother, was sixth.
Waits continued an August hot streak that includes three straight victories at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn..
