Phillips captures Monett's 4-State Championship
MONETT, Mo. (Sept. 5) — Terry Phillips of Springfield, Mo., raced to a $4,000 victory in Monett Speedway's 39th annual 4-State Dirt Track Championship, cruising to his series-leading ninth MARS DIRTcar Series victory of the season. Phillips won Monett's best-known event for the eighth time.
Polesitter John Anderson of Omaha, Neb., led the first lap but finished second in Sunday's race followed by Brad Looney of Republic, Mo., and Justin Wells of Aurora, Mo. Jeremy Payne of Springfield, a teammate to Phillips, rounded out the top five. | Slideshow
