Skylar Marlar captures Hardgrove Memorial
BURNSIDE, Ky. (Sept. 17) — Skylar Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., overtook race-long leader Mike Weeks of Friendsville, Tenn., midway through the main event for a $2,000 victory in the Harold Hardgrove Memorial at Lake Cumberland Speedway.
The third-starting Marlar's victory in the 30-lapper honoring the late track owner was sanctioned by the National All Star Racing Association and Volunteer Racing Series. | Video
Polesitter Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky., finished second followed by Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind., and David Webb of Nicholasville, Ky. Todd Coffman of Junction City, Ky., rallied from his 14th starting spot to round out the top five while Weeks, who started outside the front row and led the first 14 laps, faded to seventh.
The race ran caution-free following single-car incidents the first two laps.
