Blair fights off Double for victory at Sharon
HARTFORD, Ohio (Sept. 18) — Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., fought off challenges from another youngster Saturday for 25 laps at Sharon Speedway to win the Fastrak Northeast-sanctioned portion of the Apple Festival Nationals. Blair, 20, earned $1,200 in fighting off fourth-starting Josh Double, a 17-year-old of Bristolville, Ohio.
"Josh Double is always tough here," said Blair, who won his fourth series race of 2010. "He won this race last year, but came up light and in my mind he was the winner. He's a real good kid and is going to win plenty of races. My crew was yelling and waving at me under the last caution to get my elbows up."
Double, fresh off his best-ever series performance Sept. 5 at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, Pa., settled for second while Joe Martin, Bud Watson and 11th-starting Alan Dellinger rounded out the top five.
