Mars rallies from 18th for Fall Classic victory
ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (Oct. 8-9) — Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., earned $4,000 on Saturday at Viking Speedway by capturing the eighth annual Viking Fall Classic, one of the final WISSOTA points races of the season.
Mars rallied from his 18th starting spot for the victory as he took the checkers ahead of fourth-starting Lance Matthees of Winona, Minn., who led the race's middle stages. Polesitter Marshall Fegers of Mound, Minn., who led the first 12 laps, was third followed by track champion Jeff Wildung of Nassua, Minn., and Zach Johnson of Kensington, Minn. Wildung rallied from 25th after taking a provisional starting spot.| Slideshow
