Blair tops son in Grand Nat'ls at Roaring Knob
MARKLEYSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 9) — One week after coming up a spot short against his son, Robbie Blair of Titusville, Pa., turned the tables Saturday at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex to capture the Fastrak Northeast Grand Nationals event. He earned $1,500.
Blair inherited the point when early leader Mike Pegher Jr. of Wexford, Pa., was caught up in a lapped car's spin on the 12th lap.
The elder Blair led the rest of the way in the second round of the Grand Nationals while son Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., the previous weekend's winner at Mercer Raceway Park, finished second. Bud Watson was third while Joe Martin and Mike Blose rounded out the top five.
The father-son duo will now head to Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., on Oct. 22-23 for the Grand Nationals finale, which pays $30,000 to the overall winner.
