From series and track reports

RINGGOLD, Ga. (Oct. 15) — Nabbing his fourth special-event victory of the season at Boyd's Speedway, Skip Arp of Georgetown, Tenn., earned $3,000 Friday at the third-mile oval for his first victory on the first-year Volunteer Racing Series.

Arp was stalking leader Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., when Ogle briefly lost power on the frontstretch midway through the race, allowing Arp the chance to slip by. Arp led the final 21 laps of the 40-lapper to wrap up the victory. | Video

Eighth-starting Chris Wall of Springfield, La., took second from the outside front-row starting Ogle with three laps remaining while Tim Busha of Boaz, Ala., and 11th-starting Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn., rounded out the top five. Polesitter Anthony Burroughs of Muscle Shoals, Ala., faded to finish eighth.

Three cautions slowed the action, the first for Mark Vineyard's turn-two spin on the second lap. Ross White spun in turn two on the 20th lap and Mark Douglas spun in turn four on lap 27.
