Madrid rules Canyon for Total Seal victory
PEORIA, Ariz. (March 5) — Polesitter Anthony Madrid of Phoenix, Ariz., led every lap Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park to grab his seventh career victory on the Total Seal Late Model Dirt Racing Series.
Madrid earned $1,000 for crossing the stripe ahead of last year's champion Ricky Thornton Jr., of Chandler, Ariz., while Joey Moriarty of Phoenix rallied from his ninth starting spot to finish third. Six-time series champion Lonnie Parker Jr. of El Mirage, Ariz., and Tommy Hussak III of Picacho, Ariz., rounded out the top five. Paul Banghart of Tucson, Ariz., started outside the front row but faded to a sixth-place finish.
Next up for the series is a March 19 event at USA Raceway in Tucson.
