Zeitner gets third SLMRS victory at I-80
GREENWOOD, Neb. (April 1) — Leon Zeitner of LaVista, Neb., won a late duel with Travis Dickes of Madison, Neb., on Friday at I-80 Speedway to become the first driver with a victory in each of the three seasons on the Nebraska-based Super Late Model Racing Series.
The third-starting Zeitner earned $1,000 in capturing the SLMRS opener while Dickes, who started outside the front row, settled for second. Justin Zeitner of LaVista was third followed by 20th-starting Mike Collins of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Mike Wiarda of Aurora, Neb.
Leon Zeitner is the only other driver in tour history with more than two victories, with the exception of reigning series champ Kyle Berck of Marquette, Neb., was finished 21st.
