Record-setting McCool dominates Duck River
WHEEL, Tenn. (April 8) — Polesitter Bub McCool of Vicksburg, Miss., led all 40 laps Friday night at Duck River Speedway to capture the opening event on the Tennessee Super Series. McCool, who lowered the track record in topping 40 entries in qualifying, earned $3,000 for the victory.
Chris Wall of Holden, La., finished second followed by Tim Busha of Boaz, Ala. Home-state drivers Dane Dacus of Arlington and Tony Morris of Murfreesboro rounded out the top five at the quarter-mile oval. Four cautions slowed the main event.
The race was the first of eight on a new miniseries with races at Duck River, Winchester Speedway and Thunderhill Speedway in Summertown, Tenn. The next event is scheduled for Saturday at Winchester paying $3,000 to the winner.
