Decker earns first Western Allstars victory
Jeff Decker of Morgan Hill, Calif., raced to a $2,000 victory in Saturday night’s Western Allstars DIRTcar Late Model Series event at Antioch Speedway as the series held its first race of 2011 after going on a hiatus in 2010. | Slideshow
Decker, who was making his first series start, led Richard Papenhausen of Chico, Calif., to the finish with Chris Shannon of Merced, Calif., third. A pair of Vacaville, Calif., drivers, Clark Guglielmoni and Randy Shafer, finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Salinas, Calif., driver Bobby Hogge, the 2009 series champion, turned the fastest lap in time trials and ran second early in the main event, but a broken right-front control arm knocked him out early.
