Compton scores Carolina Clash victory at Dublin
DUBLIN, N.C. (May 21) – Kennie Compton Jr. of Bland, Va., raced to the second Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series victory of his career Saturday night when the tour visited Dublin Motor Speedway. He earned $4,000.
Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., finished second while points leader Luke Roffers of Concord, N.C., finished third. Johnny Pursley of Clover, S.C., was fourth with Jeff Smith of Dallas, N.C., rounding out the top five. | Slideshow
Mike Gault of Gaffney, S.C., lost a top-three run when he spun while among the frontrunners, and Dean Bowen held the second spot before getting into a turn-three tangle with Craig Shuffield.
The series returns to action June 4 with a $4,000-to-win event at 311 Speedway in Madison, N.C.
