DirtonDirt.com staff writerWHEATLAND, Mo. (May 26) — With the chance to enter the history books as the winner of the first-ever Dirt Late Model event to be televised by a major broadcast network, nearly 70 drivers are in attendance for Thursday night’s Dart Show-Me 100 practice session at Lucas Oil Speedway.
The $30,000-to-win event, which is co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil MLRA, serves as the sport’s first crown jewel race of the season and will be televised June 19 on CBS Sports Spectacular.
The 3/8-mile Lucas Oil Speedway is set to host the Show-Me for just the second time. The prestigious race called West Plains (Mo.) Motor Speedway home for 17 years before long-time West Plains owners Don and Billie Gibson retired and sold the race’s name to the Lucas Oil Series.
Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C., is the defending race winner.
