Holtgraver wins Sharon's Emig Memorial, $1,500
HARTFORD, Ohio (May 28) — Josh Holtgraver, whose first Fastrak Northeast touring victory came last year via another driver's disqualification, got a more satisfying victory Saturday at Sharon Speedway as the 22-year-old Pittsburgh, Pa., driver dominated the Bill Emig Memorial. Holtgraver, who led all 25 laps, earned $1,500 in outrunning Russ King and Robbie Blair.
"This time around feels a lot better," Holtgraver said. "We really had a good race car tonight, but it helped us to start up front. I tried to change it up on those restarts starting at different points. I knew they were right on me and waiting on them to go by me. It's great to race with Robbie Blair; we raced side-by-side last week at Tri-City, but I never got to race with Russ King before."
The event drew more than 40 cars and also served as an American Cancer Society fund-raiser. More than $9,000 was raised, including Mike Pegher Jr.'s donation of $500 after his victory in the one-on-one King of the Hill competition.
