Kirchoff continues CLMA dominance at Gillette
GILLETE, Wyo. (June 11) — Hometown driver and two-time series champion Eddie Kirchoff won his eighth race at Gillette Thunder Speedway in the last nine trips by the Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Series, earning $1,200 for his third CLMA victory of the season.
Scott Anderson of Spearfish, S.D., was second followed by John Bey of Sturgis, S.D. Dan Henrickson of Rapid City, S.D., was fourth and Eric Mass of Rapid City pitted after a flat tire and rallied back to fifth. Jason Schlierkolk of Casper, Wyo., the only driver to break through at Gillette amid Kirchoff's long streack, was 14th.
Kirchoff jumped into the lead and never looked back while Anderson made a few futile attempts on restarts.
CLMA competitors return to action June 25 at the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kan., for a $1,200-to-win event.
