Rockstar Show-Me 100 by Dart airs June 19 on CBS
The Rockstar Energy Drink Show-Me 100 presented by Dart Machinery will air at 5 p.m. EDT on Sunday, June 19 on CBS as part of CBS Sports Spectacular as Dirt Late Models hit major broadcast airwaves for the first time.
The Lucas Oil Studios production features the Lucas Oil Speedway event, where Jimmy Owens held off Scott Bloomquist for a victory at the sparkling oval in Wheatland, Mo., for a $30,000 payday. The race featured many lead changes with fans on their feet as the frontrunners took the checkers.
"Everyone at Lucas Oil is very pleased with how the CBS broadcast turned out," Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series director Ritchie Lewis said in a press release. "The race was very exciting and fans should really enjoy the broadcast and all the in-depth stories that will be told throughout the broadcast as well.
"Having the Lucas Oil Series air on the CBS Sports Spectacular show is huge for our fans, racers, and the whole Dirt Late Model industry. It also gives us an opportunity to reach a large sector of sports fans that might not normally tune into a Dirt Late Model event." stated Ritchie Lewis, series director.
Owens, the Show-Me 100 winner, leads the series points heading into June 17-18 action at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C., and Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va. Bloomquist, Don O'Neal, Steve Francis and Jared Landers are next in the series points.
The Lucas Oil Series hopes as many people as possible tune in to the history-marking event. Fans can see a preview of the broadcast and can send feedback to CBS Sports Spectacular about the event.
