Cornell collects first Total Seal Series victory
PEORIA, Ariz. (June 25) — John Cornell of Phoenix, Ariz., broke through on the Total Seal Late Model Dirt Racing Series on Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park for his first series victory. The third-starting Cornell, who finished a career-best third in series points in 2005, earned $1,000.
Eighth-starting Anthony Madrid, who won two of the last three series races, finished second followed by 16th-starting Wayne Noyes to give Phoenix drivers a sweep of the top three. Six-time series champion Lonnie Parker of El Mirage, Ariz., and Jame Chavez of Tucson, Ariz., rounded out the top five.
Polesitter Tommy Hussak III of Casa Grande, Ariz., ended up 10th.
