Papenhausen collects $2,000 for Antioch win
ANTIOCH, Calif. (June 25) — Richard Papenhausen of Chico, Calif., took the lead from Chris Shannon of Merced, Calif., on the 11th lap and led the rest of the way Saturday at Antioch Speedway for his second career victory on the Western Allstars DIRTcar Late Model Series.
Papenhausen, whose first series victory came in 2008 at American Valley Speedway in Quincy, Calif., earned $2,000 in the fourth Western Allstars event of the season.
Bobby Hogge IV of Salinas, Calif., who rebounded from a flat tire, took second from Shannon with five laps remaining but couldn't track down Papenhausen. Shannon ended up third.
Ryan McDaniel earned $2,000 for winning the modified feature over Hogge.
