Dedwylder corrals $2,500 victory at Jackson
BYRAM, Miss. (June 25) — Scott Dedwylder of Vosburg, Miss., earned $2,500 for his unsanctioned victory Saturday in Jackson Motor Speedway's River Rumble 40.
Cliff Williams of Star, Miss., rallied from 12th for a runner-up finish while ninth-starting Chad Thrash of Meridian, Miss., was third. Polesitter Scott Creel of Franklinton, La., and 11th-starting Ross Camponovo of Clarksville, Miss., rounded out the top five in the 40-lapper. | Misssissippi weekly results
Starting inside the third row, Dedwylder stuck with the extreme low groove and was out front by the 12th lap. Williams worked his way to the second spot but couldn't keep up with Dedwylder at the quarter-mile oval.

Fast qualifier Scott Creel earned $200 from Cooper's Country Meat Packers for setting fast time. ... Mike Boland of Cuba, Ala., won the NeSmith Crate Late Model feature, leading every lap in outrunning Neil Baggett. ... The track has battled economic difficulties, but track owner Don Cliburn was pleased on a night with $10, general admission. "It was a pleasant surprise to see over 80 cars in the pits and the spectator stands packed," Cliburn said. ... Gulf South Region ASCS Winged Sprints highlight July 3's racing at Jackson.
