Stone grabs ULMS victory at Tri-City
FRANKLIN, Pa. (July 1) — Polesitter Dan Stone of Thompson, Pa., dominated Friday at Tri-City Speedway for his first victory on the Northern Tier United Late Model Series since 2006.
Stone earned $2,000 for the victory that's part of the three-race ULMS Firecracker Tour over the Fourth of July weekend. The victory was the second of his career at Tri-City, where he earned a career-high $10,000 for a 2007 World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory.
Series points leader Mike Knight of Ripley, N.Y., finished second followed by Russ King of Bristolville, Ohio. Ron Davies of Warren, Pa., and Bump Hedman of Sugar Grove, Pa., rounded out the top five. Wally Fox, who started outside the front row, faded early and spun, ending up 10th.
