Fourth straight Show-Me Series victory for Essary
SOUTH COFFEYVILLE, Okla. (July 16) — Leslie Essary of Crane, Mo., notched his fourth straight victory on the Race Brothers Show-Me Racin' Series on Saturday at Mid-America Speedway. Essary earned $1,000 in outrunning Larry Campbell of Van Buren, Ark., and Brandon Hunter of Alma, Ark.
Starting mid-pack, Essary took the lead midway through the caution-free feature and edged Campbell at the checkers. Series points leader Justin Wells finished seventh, allowing Campbell to cut his lead to merely two points.
Notes: Essary's GRT Race Car has a Mike's Motor and Machine engine and sponsorship from Baillie Diesel. ... Essary has 29 career series victories, five leading the leading Justin Wells on the all-time list. ... Essary is one shy of the series record five straight victories set by Wells in 2004. ... Modified standout Chad Wheeler made his first series start in nearly two years, driving the McMurtrie Oil-sponsored MasterSbilt to an 11th-place finish.
