Belcher grabs Total Seal victory at USA Raceway
TUCSON, Ariz. (Aug. 13) – Terry Belcher Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., raced to the second Total Seal Late Model Dirt Racing Series victory of his career Saturday night at USA Raceway and earned a $1,000 payday.
Fellow Phoenix driver Anthony Madrid, who won the most recent series event at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz., was second followed by hometown driver Paul Banghart. Joey Moriarty made it three Phoenix drivers in the top five with his fourth-place finish while hometown driver James Chavez Jr. finished fifth. | Slideshow
Defending series champion Ricky Thornton Jr. of Chandler, Ariz., started on the pole but ended up 15th in the 16-car field after engine failure knocked him out of the lead.
Belcher won his first series event July 2 at Thunder Raceway in Show Low, Ariz., in a race that was a late addition to the series schedule.
