Moyer outduels Moyer Jr. for $3,000 at West Plains
WEST PLAINS, Mo. (Aug. 13) – In a battle between father and son, Hall of Famer Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., outdueled Billy Moyer Jr. Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway to claim a $3,000 payday in an event that was sanctioned by both the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series and the MARS DIRTcar Series. | Slideshow
Moyer Jr. also of Batesville, Ark., settled for the runner-up finish with Jesse Stovall of Galena, Mo., third. Springfield, Mo., driver Terry Phillips was fourth with Todd Hall of Charleston, Mo., rounding out the top five finishers.
Notes: The winning Moyer drives a Victory Circle Chassis that has a Clements Racing Engine and sponsorship from L&D Trucking, Henderson Motorsports, Banner Valley Hauling and Minx Show Palace. ... The victory ended a winless skid for Moyer that dated back to July 2 when he won a UMP DIRTcar Summernationals event at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo. ... The MARS series returns to action with an Aug. 25-27 tripleheader at Highland (Ill.) Speedway, Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway and I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo. ... The Comp Cams Series is off until Aug. 26 when it visits Drew County Speedway in Monticello, Ark.
