Pederson ends NLRA skid with Greenbush victory
GREENBUSH, Minn. (Aug. 27) – Joey Pederson of Grand Forks, Minn., ended a two-year dry spell in Northern LateModel Racing Association action Saturday night when the tour visited Greenbush Race Park. Pederson earned $1,100 for his fourth career-victory on the series.
Four-time and defending series champion Mike Balcaen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, finished second with series points leader Ricky Weiss, also of Winnipeg, third. Bill Mooney of Selkirk, Manitoba, was fourth with Greg Ferris of Emo, Ontario, rounding out the top five. Cole Schill, who won his first career heat race, led early in the feature and finished a career-best sixth.
The tour wraps up its season with a Labor Day weekend doubleheader at Viking Speedway in Alexandria, Minn., followed by visit to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., Sept. 8. All three events pay $1,100 to the winner.
