Posey leads all the way for $3,000 at Winterfest
WINCHESTER, Tenn. (Feb. 25) — Outside front-row starter Corey Posey of Petersburg, Tenn., led all 40 laps of Saturday's Winterfest at Winchester Speedway for a $3,000 Super Late Model victory. Getting the jump on polesitter Mike Weeks, Posey won the race into turn one and stayed out front all race long in taking the checkers by a straightaway margin.
Weeks, the Lenoir, Tenn., driver making his second start with Kyle Motorsports, settled for second with Tim Busha of Boaz, Ala., in third. Jason Welshan of Maryville, Tenn., and Lamar Scoggins of Cleveland, Tenn., rounded out the top five.
Four cautions slowed the action, the most serious on a lap-12 restart when several cars went spinning out of turn four.
