Franklin grabs second straight Fastrak win
PRINCETON, W.Va. (May 27) — Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., wrapped up the Fastrak City Chevrolet Tour’s tripleheader weekend by claiming a $2,000 victory Sunday night at Princeton Speedway, his second on the tour’s Memorial Day weekend Triple Crown miniseries.
Franklin, who also won Saturday’s Fastrak race at Wythe (Va.) Raceway, topped runner-up Chris Meadows of Beckley, W.Va., and third-place finisher Anthony Sanders of Spartanburg, S.C. Mike Faykus, also of Beckley, was fourth with Lee Cooper of Woodruff, S.C., rounding out the top five.
Cooper won the Triple Crown points chase for the second consecutive year.
The Fastrak tour returns to action with a June 8-9 doubleheader at Cleveland County Speedway in Lawndale, N.C., and Hartwell (Ga.) Speedway.
