O'Brien grabs SLMRS victory at Adams County
CORNING, Iowa (June 9) — Following up a half-track victory in a regular-season feature the previous weekend, Jason O’Brien of Atlantic, Iowa, scored his second victory of the season on the Nebraska-based Super Late Model Racing Series on Saturday at Adams County Speedway.
O’Brien, who started fifth in the 26-car field, pocketed $1,000 at the half-mile oval, has two SLMRS victories in four 2012 races and three for his career. His first came at Adams County last season and he captured this year’s season opener at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb.
Ninth-starting Travis Dickes of Madison, Neb., finished second on Saturday followed by hometown driver Trenton Jackson. J.C. Wyman of Griswold, Iowa, and Justin Zeitner of Bellevue, Neb., rounded out the top five finishers. Polesitter Mike Wiarda of Aurora, Neb., retired after 18 laps and was scored 23rd.
