Diemel back in WCS victory lane at Deer Creek
SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (June 27) — Fifth-starting A.J. Diemel of Navarino, Wis., captured Wednesday’s WISSOTA Challenge Series event at Deer Creek Speedway, earned $2,000 for his first series victory in six seasons.
Diemel outran a charging Chad Mahder of Eau Claire, Wis., who came from his 15th starting spot for a runner-up finish at the 3/8-mile oval. John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis., advanced nine spots to finish third while outside front-row starter Nick Herrick of West Concord, Minn., was fourth. | Slideshow
Reigning series champion Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, who started inside the second row, rounded out the top five finishers in the third series event of the season. Polesitter David Fieber of Neenah, Wis., a graduate of Crate Late Models, finished seventh.
