Ferguson ends Meadows' streak at Thunder Mountain
HANOVER, W.Va. (July 22) — Chris Ferguson of Mount Holly, N.C., won Sunday’s Fastrak City Chevrolet Series race at Thunder Mountain Speedway, earning $2,000 in an event that was postponed from Friday.
The third-starting Ferguson ended Chris Meadows’ dominance at Thunder Mountain after the Crab Orchard, W.Va., driver won Saturday’s Fastrak race at the 4/10-mile oval and won the tour’s first visit in May. | Slideshow
Ferguson led K.C. Burdette of Beckley, W.Va., to the finish with former series champion David Smith of Inman, S.C., third. Meadows finished fourth after starting from the pole with eighth-starting Joel Prosser of New Martinsville, W.Va., rounding out the top five.
Notes: Ferguson drove a Mike Mercer-owned Barry Wright Race Car that’s sponsored by Burdette Trucking, Just Cuts, FK Rod Ends and Precision Suspension. … The Fastrak tour returns to action July 28 with a $2,000-to-win event at Toccoa (Ga.) Speedway.
