Meadows tops Compton to win Miners Memorial
BECKLEY, W.Va. (Aug. 3) — Chris Meadows of Crab Orchard, W.Va., continued his solid season in the Crate Late Model ranks Friday night at Beckley Motorsports Park, claiming a $2,900 victory in the second annual Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial for non-touring Fastrak Crate Late Models.
The second-starting Meadows, who already this season scored a pair of victories on the Fastrak City Chevrolet Tour, topped polesitter Kenny Compton Jr. of Bland, Va., and eighth-starting T.J. Salango of Glen Daniel, W.Va. Hometown driver Jeff Maxwell advanced from 10th to fourth while 11th-starting Zack Mitchell of Henry, S.C., rounded out the top five finishers.
