Keller captures Jamestown's 41st Stock Car Stampede
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Sept. 21-22) — Jeremy Keller of Bismarck, N.D., rallied from his 12th starting spot Saturday at Jamestown Speedway to capture the WISSOTA Late Model portion of the 41st annual Stock Car Stampede. Keller earned $2,500.
Outside front-row starter Shawn Kirwin of Morris, Minn., finished second followed by Mitch Johnson of Hickson, N.D. Last weekend’s WISSOTA 100 winner Cody Skytland of Fargo, N.D., was fourth and hometown modified standout James Grimes rounded out the top five. | Slideshow
Polesitter Chad Becker of Aberdeen, S.D., was among nine drivers who weren’t running at the finish. He was 21st.
Notes: Keller’s No. 11k is sponsored by Dakota Track Side, Skinner’s Rolloff Service, Simes Graphics Designs and Mars Race Cars. ... Fifteen of 24 starters were running at the finish. ... Late Model rookie Dustin Strand of Grand Forks, N.D., won a heat race but was among the retirees. ... The annual event drew more than 300 races cars overall.
