East Bay rainout sets up Saturday doubleheader
GIBSONTON, Fla. (Feb. 14) — The fourth round of East Bay Raceway Park’s 37th annual Dart Winternationals was postponed Thursday after persistent showers fell over third mile oval most of the afternoon.
Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series officials announced the $7,000-to-win event would be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday. Gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday morning with the rescheduled event slated to get under way at noon. Saturday’s regularly scheduled $10,000-to-win Winternationals finale will run as scheduled with hot laps beginning at 6 p.m. | Complete Speedweeks coverage
Winternationals action resumes Friday with the night’s $10,000-to-win event serving as the first points race of the season for the Lucas Oil Series.
Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., has won two of three Winternationals events so far this week in claiming Monday night’s opener and Wednesday night’s rain-shortened event. Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., won Tuesday’s race.
