Max Blair claims $5,000 Fastrak win at WVMS
MINERAL WELLS, W.Va. (May 11) — Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., continued his domination of the Fastrak Crate Late Model ranks Saturday night, scoring a Fastrak national event victory worth $5,000 at West Virginia Motor Speedway.
Blair, whose 2012 accolades included a $22,000 victory in the Fastrak World Championship, another Fastrak Northeast tour championship and 34 Crate Late Model victories overall, topped Donald Bradsher of Centerville, Pa., in earning his fifth overall victory of the season and his first of the year in Fastrak touring action.
Bradsher, who took the lead from race-long leader Matt Long of Concord, N.C., on a lap-14 restart but couldn’t hold off Blair late in the 50-lap race. Bradsher settled for second ahead of Jacob Hawkins of Fairmont, W.Va.
Chris Meadows of Crab Orchard, W.Va., and Mike Pegher Jr. of Wexford, Pa., rounded out the top-five as the WVMS hosted its first national Fastrak event since it was shortened to oval 4/10-mile from 5/8-mile during the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
