Linville wins $3,000 at 201's Combs Memorial
SITKA, Ky. (May 18) — Dustin Linville of Bryantsville, Ky., claimed Saturday night’s second annual Walter “Peg” Combs Memorial at 201 Speedway, earning a $3,000 victory in the quarter-mile oval’s unsanctioned special event.
Linville led Jackie Boggs of Grayson, Ky., at the finish with Chris Combs of Isom, Ky., finishing third an event that was delayed one week by rain. Michael Howard of West Liberty, Ky., finished fourth with Paul Harris of Prestonsburg, Ky., rounding out the race’s top five finishers.
Notes: Linville’s Swartz Race Car has a Bullock Race Engine and sponsorship from McElliott Trucking, Benton Auto Body, G.A. Parsons Trucking and 4B Motorsports. ... Chris Combs won the inaugural Combs Memorial in 2012, when the race was held at Lucky 7 Speedway in Colson, Ky. ... The next Super Late Model special at 201 is scheduled for June 15. The Southern Steel Moonshine Runner event pays $3,000 to the winner of the Southern Regional Racing Series event.
