Fisher breaks through, hooks first MSCCS win

COLUMBUS, Miss. (May 25) — Tenth-starting Clay Fisher of Dewitt, Ark., claimed his first-career Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series event Saturday night at Columbus Speedway, earning $2,500 at the high-banked third-mile oval in leading only the final lap. | Slideshow
Former series champion Chris Wall of Springfield, La., was leading when he tangled with a lapped car on the final lap and settled for second behind Fisher. Chad Thrash of Meridian, Miss., third followed by Eric Cooley of Fulton, Miss., and pole-starting Neil Baggett of Shannon, Miss.
Notes: Fisher drives a MasterSbilt Race Car powered by a Kuntz & Co. Racing Engine and sponsored by Fisher Transportation Services, Horton Diesel Repair, Palmer Fisher Trucking, Moon’s Towing and Recovery, Stuckey Enterprises, X-treme Graphics. ...
