Jackson completes Rockabilly sweep
HARRISBURG, Ark. (June 8) — Tony Jackson Jr. of Lebanon, Mo., claimed Saturday’s Rockabilly finale Saturday night at Northeast Arkansas Speedway, completing a sweep of the track’s doubleheader event for the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series.
Jackson, who scored his first-career Comp Cams Series victory with his $1,500 victory in the Rockabilly opener Friday, earned $3,000 in winning Saturday’s 45-lap feature from the pole starting position. | Slideshow | Jackson wins opener
Clay Fisher of Dewitt, Ark., followed Jackson across the line in second with Dane Dacus of Lakeland, Tenn., finishing third for the second straight night.
Friday’s runner-up Kyle Beard of Trumann, Ark., was fourth, while Tanner English of Benton, Ky., rebounded from a rollover accident in Friday’s event to finish fifth.
Notes: Jackson’s Rocket Chassis has a Cornett engine and sponsorship from RLB Financial, Lindsay Chevrolet and Club 29. ... The Rockabilly was a single race last season with Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, Ark., claiming a $3,000 victory. ... COMP Cams Series competitors return to action June 21-22 with a doubleheader weekend at Camden (Tenn.) Speedway and Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark. Both races pay $2,000 to the winner.
