Berck captures series-leading fourth SLMRS event
ALBION, Neb. (July 8) — Pole-starting Kyle Berck of Marquette, Neb., earned his series-leading fourth victory Monday in action on the Nebraska-based Super Late Model Racing Series, but he wasn’t able to regain the points lead.
Berck earned $1,000 for the victory to take the checkers ahead of Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., the tour’s points leader following his Fourth of July victory at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Neb. Pospisil, a heat race winner like Berck, started fifth in the main event and holds a 652-646 margin over Berck in the title chase.
Bill Leighton Jr. of Omaha, Neb., was third followed by Jim Johnson of Plainview, Neb., and 12th-starting Bob Osborn of Norfolk.
