Fries led most of the way, but had his hands full with Knaub, who made a mid-race pass negated by a caution. Knaub went back to work in the low groove before a change in strategy that led to his $1,500 victory, his second tour win of the season.
Fries held on for second while fast qualifier Tyler Armstrong was third. Denny Bonebrake and Tim Smith Jr. rounded out the top five. Heat race winner Dominic Defino was the first retiree after getting tangled up with competitors in traffic and getting into the frontstretch wall.
