Hawkins overtook polesitter and teammate Duane Chamberlain of Richmond, Ind., on the 15th lap and led the rest of the 25-lap midweek feature, a Dirt Late Model invitation-only race on the undercard of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event won by Austin Dillon.
Chamberlain settled for second while Tyler Reddick of Corning, Calif., was third. Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., and Jeff Babcock of Wayne, Ohio, rounded out the top five finishers in a race slowed by two cautions.
Kent Robinson of Bloomington, Ind., who won Tuesday’s invitational during practice night for NASCAR entries, was Wednesday’s first retiree after blowing a tire.
