Davenport wins Clayhill's NeSmith Series event
ATWOOD, Tenn. (July 27) — Tait Davenport of Paducah, Ky., raced to a $2,500 victory Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports as the 3/8-mile west Tennessee oval hosted the Crate Late Models of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series.
Leading series rookie Kyle Bronson of Brandon, Fla., finished second while series points Ronny Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, Ala., was third to add to his points lead over Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn., who finished fourth. Johnny Stokes of Columbus, Miss., finished fifth.
NeSmith Series competitors return to action Aug. 23-24 with an east Tennessee doubleheader at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway and 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour.
