Roberts claims fifth Ultimate win at Lavonia
LAVONIA, Ga. (Aug. 2) — Second-starting Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., extended his points lead with his fifth Ultimate Series victory of the season Friday night at Lavonia Speedway, earning a $4,000 payday as the series made its second visit of the season to the 3/8-mile oval. | Slideshow
Fourth-starting Gus Simpson of Gainesville, Ga., was second at the finish with polesitter Dennis "Rambo" Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., third ahead of 10th-starting Chris Ferguson of Mount Holley, N.C., and Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn.
Friday’s race was the first leg of the tour’s doubleheader weekend in the Peach State. Action moves to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Ga., on Saturday for another $4,000-to-win event.
