Alberson rules El Paso's CDM race
EL PASO, Texas (Aug. 2) — Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, N.M., kept his hot streak rolling at El Paso Speedway Park on Friday night, claiming his first Championship Dirt Motorsports victory of the season in winning his third straight race at El Paso and his fourth consecutive victory overall. | Slideshow
Alberson earned $1,200 in claiming his 13th Late Model victory of the season. He’ll look to keep his momentum rolling Saturday when the CDM tour moves to his hometown track Southern New Mexico Speedway, where he already has four victories this season.
Bumper Jones of Mesilla Park, N.M., finished behind Alberson in the second spot with Lonnie Parker of Phoenix, Ariz., Scott Lewis of Henderson, Colo., and Fito Gallardo of Las Cruces, N.M., rounding out the race’s top five finishers.
Notes: Alberson drives a MasterSbilt Race Car with sponsorship from BatteriesPlus, Rio Grande Foot Clinic, Argyle Welding Supply Co., Wehrs Machine, J. Craig’s Tile, and Indy Screen Print. ... Alberson became the tour’s 11th different winner this season. ... The race was the second of the tour’s two events at El Paso this season. R.C. Whitwell won the first race on June 14.
