Chad Simpson dominates at Fayette County
WEST UNION, Iowa (Aug. 9) — Chad Simpson of Mount Vernon, Iowa, dominated Friday’s Corn Belt Clash main event at Fayette County Speedway, earning $3,000 to win his fourth straight series race at the 3/8-mile oval.
Simpson, the three-time series champion and current points leader, topped his younger brother Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa, at the finish with Jake Meier of Tipton, Iowa, Denny Eckrich of Tiffin, Iowa, and Jason Utter of Columbus Junction, Iowa, rounding out the top five. | Slideshow
Friday’s race was the first of four series events in six days to conclude the tour’s 2013 campaign. The series moves to Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa, Iowa, on Saturday before holding its final two events Aug. 13-14 at Marshalltown (Iowa) Speedway and Cedar County Racing in Tipton, Iowa.
