Mooney grabs NLRA victory at Devil's Lake
DOYON, N.D. (Aug. 17) — Bill Mooney of Selkirk, Manitoba, won Saturday’s Northern LateModel Racing Association event at Devil’s Lake Speedway, holding off charges by Brad Seng and Pat Doar in leading all 25 laps of the main event.
Mooney captured his second career NLRA victory and first since an Aug. 13, 2011, triumph at Jamestown (N.D.) Speedway.
Seng, of Grand Forks, N.D., was second followed by Doar, of New Richmond, Wis. Dustin Strand of Grand Forks and Steffen Snare of Hallock, Minn., completed the top five. Mike Balcaen of Winnipeg, Manitoba, came from 23rd to seventh for hard charger honors.
