Wall notches seventh MSCCS victory
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (Sept. 6) — Polesitter Chris Wall of Springfield, La., overtook fellow front-row starter Chris Smith of Brewton, Ala., on the 12th lap and led the rest of the way Friday for his series-leading seventh Mississippi State Championship Challenge victory of the season.
Wall pocketed $2,000 in taking the checkers ahead of David Breazeale of Four Corners, Miss., and Rick Rickman of Columbus, Miss. Smith settled for fourth with Brian Rickman, Rick’s brother, rounding out the top five.
Wall has a series-leading 42 career MSCCS victories and five in the last seven races stretching back to June 1.
The series heads to Columbus Speedway on Saturday for a $2,500-to-win event.
