Dohm, Boggs among Brushcreek heat winners
PEEBLES, Ohio (Sept. 13) — Dustin Linville, Jackie Boggs and Tim Dohm all scored heat race victories Friday night at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex as the 3/8-mile oval hosted prelims for the unsanctioned American Heritage Classic.
Each of the three drivers will start up front in the first of Saturday’s twin main events at Brushcreek. The first of the twin features pays $10,000 to the winner, while the winner of the second race earns a new Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. Starting from the pole, Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., held off Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind., to claim the first of Friday’s three heat races. The second-starting Johnson looked under Dohm multiple times early in the race before settling into second midway through and finishing a few car lengths behind Dohm.
Boggs of Grayson, Ky., cruised in the second heat race, leading every lap from the pole to win by more than a straightaway advantage over Eddie Carrier Jr. of outside polesitter Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va., and fourth-starting Ben Adkins of West Portsmouth, Ohio.
Linville of Bryantsville, Ky., was the third front-row starter to claim a heat victory, in leading every lap of the final prelim from the outside pole. Linville turned back a challenge from polesitter R.J. Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio on the opening lap and again on a midrace restart before pulling away to the victory.
