Lamance wins Lavonia's Fastrak event
LAVONIA, Ga. (Sept. 14) — Hot Rod Lamance of Sugar Tit, S.C., held off David McCoy of Franklin, N.C., and Dale Timms of Hodges, S.C., to claim a $3,000 victory in the Fastrak Racing Series portion of Saturday’s Georgia State Championship event at Lavonia Speedway.
Lamance, 61, showed off his veteran skills behind the wheel by keeping his machine out of the concrete as it lurched hard just short of the flagstand after blowing a right rear tire exiting the final corner.
McCoy settled for second in the Crate Late Model event with Timms third. Adam Smith and Paul Byrum rounded out the race’s top five finishers.
Fastrak competitors return to action in a $5,000-to-win event Sept. 20-21 at County Line Raceway in Elm City, N.C.
